In FOCUS: Bryan Wilson, Land Planning & Landscape Architecture
As a Junior Project Manager and Landscape Designer, Bryan Wilson leads projects through all stages of design—from conception and schematic design through permitting and construction—with clients’ overall project vision and budget at the forefront. He actively collaborates with architects, internal engineers, and subconsultants while ensuring quality assurance and quality control for plans and documents on all projects. He has a broad range of experience in numerous market sectors of both private and public planning and site development. His experience includes parks and trail planning, high-end commercial development, college campus and K-12 design, industrial, healthcare, and residential design.
Very personable and dependable with good listening skills, Bryan pays close attention to details, allowing him to provide high-quality work, even when there are quick turnaround times. Not only does he carry a notebook with him everywhere he goes so he can glean important key details from his conversations, but he also has strong hand and computer graphic presentation skills with follow through on what he has been asked to do.
To ensure projects are executed correctly every time, Bryan is careful to have all current municipal code and regulations in his purview as he designs so he has a full understanding of any possible design constraints. When project issues arise, he performs a strategic analysis to develop an efficient approach to solving the problem. While proactively involving the client as needed, he typically finds multiple solutions and weighs the pros and cons for each issue—especially when they require timely or complex resolutions.
Bryan’s career in landscape architecture is the perfect outlet to express his artistic ability by creating 3-dimensional spaces for all users to enjoy. When not designing beautiful public spaces at work, Bryan finds himself appreciating the arts, particularly oil painting landscapes. He also enjoys “anything with a board involving extreme sports,” such as surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, etc. He enjoys fly fishing, where he finds satisfaction in catching fish with flies that he ties with his own hands. Bryan also played the guitar in a hard metal band in high school!
