Partner Profile: Andersen Construction
Andersen Construction has built a strong reputation across the Northwest and Intermountain West. We spoke with Boise-based Project Manager Chris Jackson about how the company’s core values guide their work, foster long-term relationships, and support its partnership with FOCUS Consulting.
Core Values and Culture Drive
Chris has worked at Andersen Construction for over 12 years and continues to see the company’s values play out on every project. The majority of Andersen’s work throughout all regions comes from repeat, long-time clients. The company operates around nine core values, with “Establish long term relationships” at the top. According to Chris, “our core values are our guiding light not only in how we operate as a company but as individuals at both work and in our personal lives.”
That values-driven approach directly shapes Andersen’s culture. Chris shares that, “one of our core values is we treat everyone with dignity and respect. At Andersen you know you are valued as person, not just an employee. We truly feel like part of an Andersen family.” This culture is reflected in long employee tenures, with many team members staying with the company for 10 to 20 years or more.
Planning, Trust, and Partnership
Early planning plays a critical role in Andersen’s project success. The company focuses on taking on projects they believe will help all stakeholders, owners, and trade partners succeed. They invest heavily in upfront coordination to reduce risk for clients. One of Anderson’s core values is rooted in integrity, as Chris explains, “You can bank on our word.” He notes that this same level of reliability is what drew Andersen to work with FOCUS Consulting.
Andersen’s partnership with FOCUS began in 2022 on the Desert Sage Health Center project and continued with the Caldwell Medical Office Building. Chris reflects that continuing the relationship across multiple projects “shows the trust we have in FOCUS.” Across all projects, Andersen emphasizes reliability, accuracy, and clear communication as essential components of successful collaboration. Safety is also central to Andersen’s operations. “It is our number one priority on projects and is one of the nine core values.” Chris points out that Andersen integrates safety-first culture at every level of the project. Many subcontractors are repeat partners, and as Chris explains, “their success matters as much as ours. That starts with safety and making sure everyone goes home safe each day.”
Excelling in Complex Healthcare Projects and Beyond
Andersen continues to expand its expertise in healthcare construction, including work on the Nampa Hospital Expansion, the company’s largest regional healthcare project to date. Healthcare projects require strict safety standards and complex coordination. Andersen carefully selects subcontractors and aligns multiple teams to meet those demands. When asked what truly sets Andersen Construction apart, Chris comes back to the people. He emphasizes that the company’s ownership makes employees feel valued as individuals and part of something bigger, which is a mindset that continues to drive Anderson’s success and long-standing partnerships.
