LGI Homes was founded in 2003 in Conroe, Texas. The company built, sold, and closed its first community — the 337-home Summerset Estates — in approximately two years.   LGI Homes became a publicly traded company in 2013, which allowed the company to expand geographically. Today, the homebuilder operates in 20 states and is the tenth largest builder in the country.

Division President Chris Kelly shares that LGI Homes’ target consumers are primarily renters and first-time homebuyers. “We have a unique and highly successful marketing system proven to convert renters into new homeowners,” shares Chris. Their communities are staffed with two to five professionally trained salespeople who are focused on providing exceptional customer service and keeping the buying process simple.

When LGI Homes looked to purchase, develop, and construct its first project in Utah, they recruited Adam Archer to be the Vice President of Construction.   Adam turned to FOCUS Engineering & Surveying for structural engineering, architectural design, and site grading. “We were impressed with the caliber of people we had the opportunity to meet,” he recounts. “We see a tremendous value working with a local engineering firm that can also provide architecture services.”

Because LGI Homes is a 100% spec builder, the company relies on FOCUS to provide designs that come with great value at an affordable price. We’re currently working together on Oquirrh Mountain Ranch, a 206-lot project in Eagle Mountain.
