What YOU can bring to the table:

  • Completed civil engineering degree with an emphasis in structural engineering
  • Work or intern experience in the field of structural engineering is a bonus
  • EIT status or PE licensure a bonus
  • Solid analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with all levels of personnel, including leadership, as well as clients.
  • Eagerness to work and thrive in a team environment.
  • Willingness to be a team player & to contribute as a team to address project needs. May be required to perform administrative-type duties as required, i.e., copying and collating plans and preparing/delivering submittals.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
  • Capacity to work under pressure to meet client-imposed project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, BlueBeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with structural design software such as RAM, RISA, Enercalc, Revit, and AutoCAD is a bonus
  • Openness to follow company CAD drafting standards and procedures.
  • Buy-in & commitment to the FOCUS core ideologies.
  • Enthusiasm to work from our Midvale office.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with Project Managers & Professional Engineers to produce engineering designs of the utmost quality through the utilization of CAD software & other engineer design programs.
  • Utilizing great communication & teamwork, attentively track information required to produce deliverables & assist with the design of proposed infrastructure improvements, such as the design of roadway, sewer, water, and storm drainage systems, as well as site grading design.
  • Harnessing thoroughness & integrity, create design deliverables that meet municipal codes & requirements.
  • By holding yourself to high standards & employing extreme ownership, work within our defined QA/QC review process to ensure accuracy & project success.
  • With a commitment to being the best at customer service & having a passion for our client’s success, be their advocate to help them efficiently navigate designs and provide consultation related to structural engineering .
