Salary: $70,000-$100,000+ per year, or competitive with the market based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, no weekends

What YOU can bring to the table:
- Experience working with the Utah Department of Transportation and good knowledge of standards and requirements.
- Completed civil engineering degree, preferably with an emphasis on Transportation.
- Solid analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills to interface with all levels of personnel, including leadership, as well as clients.
- Eagerness to work and thrive in a team environment.
- Willingness to be a team player & to contribute as a team to address project needs. May be required to perform administrative-type duties as required, i.e., copying and collating plans and preparing/delivering submittals.
- Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
- Capacity to work under pressure to meet client-imposed project deadlines.
- Prior experience with drafting or design with MicroStation or OpenRoads in fields of transportation engineering would be preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, BlueBeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Openness to follow company CAD drafting standards and procedures.

- Work from our Midvale office.
Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with Project Managers and Professional Engineers to provide engineering support thus producing construction drawings and designs of the utmost quality.
- Utilizing great communication and teamwork, attentively track information required to produce deliverables and assist with the design of proposed infrastructure improvements, such as the design of roadway and storm drainage systems.
- Harnessing thoroughness and integrity, create design deliverables that meet UDOT and/or municipal codes and requirements.
- By holding yourself to high standards and employing extreme ownership, work within our defined QA/QC review process to ensure accuracy & project success.
- With commitment to being the best at customer service & having passion for our client’s success, be their advocate to help them efficiently navigate municipality approval.
- Will be expected to participate in department goal setting and accomplishments, book reviews, and personal and team development.

The day-to-day of transportation engineering: Develop and optimize roadways, intersections, transit systems, and other transportation infrastructure. Use CAD software to draft layouts and ensure designs are safe, efficient, and sustainable. Study traffic patterns, congestion issues, and user behavior to propose improvements. Analyze data on vehicle flow, pedestrian movement, and accident reports to enhance transportation safety and efficiency. Meet and/or communicate with government agencies, city planners, and construction teams to align design objectives with community needs and regulatory standards.
