FOCUS Adds Associate Program and First Two Associates
The leadership team at FOCUS continues to evolve and grow with the recent promotions of Travis Benson and Trenton Smith to firm associates. As the first two associates in the new program, these promotions recognize the commitment to learning and leadership that both possess.
Trenton Smith joined FOCUS in 2014. He led the Construction Staking department as manager for over six years. While he loves being in the field, he translated the precision needed for construction staking into building one of FOCUS’s largest production departments. He is currently pursuing new opportunities for the firm.
As a firm leader, Trenton looks forward to expanding his role as a champion of the firm’s culture and core ideologies. “When I first joined FOCUS it was a temporary position for me,” he shares. “I soon realized this was an environment I wanted to be a part of and recognized the growth and opportunities available.” He sees himself as providing one more perspective to making FOCUS better as he helps chart the future of the company’s strategic vision, operations, financial well-being, and general management.
Since joining FOCUS eight years ago, Travis Benson has seen the firm constantly growing and adapting to market demands and the changing industry. While he will continue to lead the Site Civil Commercial Department, Travis will contribute to FOCUS planning and growth efforts. “I feel there is a larger responsibility to foster the growth and well-being of the firm as a whole, beyond the care and attention given to the Site Civil Departments,” explains Travis. “We want to be a great company filled with great individuals, working to make our clients successful.”
In the coming year, Travis aspires to mold individuals into teams, provide opportunity where it is cherished and valued, and provide a place that fosters growth, where limitations are surpassed and unrealized potential is achieved.
Both men humbly believe the promotion to associate isn’t all that important to the success of the company. Instead, they point to the individual efforts from every FOCUS team member, every day, to do all in their power to make clients happy is what will foster the future success of the company. “The most exciting part about this is that we are barely tapping into what we are capable of,” Travis emphasizes. “There are amazing things yet to come.”
