Rebecca Musimbi: A Passionate Team Member at FOCUS

Rebecca Musimbi is a key member of the survey team at FOCUS Engineering & Surveying. Growing up, she often helped her dad work on cars and electrical systems at home. Since then, Rebecca has always had a passion for learning how different systems and moving parts work together. Her natural curiosity and love of learning have led her to a career at FOCUS. As she continues to grow alongside her team, she looks forward to pursuing studies in Applied Science and obtaining her Surveyors License.

Maintaining Work-Life Balance

Rebecca enjoys the work-life balance she is able to maintain at FOCUS. When she is not working with the surveying team, she spends time with family and friends, tries new restaurants, or unwinds by watching Korean drama TV shows. Rebecca also loves cooking and surprising her family with her outstanding recipes.

While at work, Rebecca praises the efforts of her coworkers: “I admire the work ethic and abilities of my colleagues to lead their teams and meet clients’ needs. Having role models around me really helps me improve constantly and strive to become better at what I do every day.”

Overcoming Challenges and Growing with FOCUS

Rebecca joined FOCUS a little over two years ago, and she consistently reflects the values at the core of the firm—striving for constant growth while prioritizing communication, integrity, teamwork, and client success. “I had no engineering background when I started working here, and it was quite intimidating at first. However, as I went through the training period, my managers were very encouraging and supportive. They didn’t view me as just an inexperienced new employee. They saw the potential in me and how I could grow in the future. This gave me the confidence to overcome the challenges I faced.”

A recent experience highlighted how far Rebecca has come in her role. “A few months ago, I visited some friends who had recently bought a home in a new subdivision, and I realized it was one of the projects I had participated in and that FOCUS worked on. My friends really love their new home. Just knowing that I am helping the community around me grow makes me truly enjoy what I do.”
