8600 S Roadway
Located in West Jordan, Utah, the 8600 South Roadway Extension spans 0.85 miles and supports the city’s long-term transportation plan. FOCUS provided full roadway design services, including utilities, right of way acquisition, traffic signals, signage, and striping. The project features a large roundabout at 6700 West, aligned with others along the corridor, and required coordination with UDOT, particularly at the 8600 South and U-111 (Bacchus Highway) intersection to meet state standards.
Challenges included working with multiple agencies, landowners, and planning for future development. FOCUS brought extensive roadway and UDOT expertise to guide design, budgeting, and compliance. Our roundabout experience was key in meeting city goals, and we delivered 30 percent design documents early while maintaining regular coordination with West Jordan City, UDOT, and landowners. Through weekly meetings and consistent communication, we ensured stakeholder alignment and a design that supports the city’s long-term transportation vision.
