Our Projects

Shiny Shell is a commercial car wash located on a 0.7-acre site in Kearns, Utah. The facility features a unique design element; half of the roof is engineered to collect rainwater, which is piped into a reclaimed water system for on-site reuse, supporting sustainable practices.

The project site presented several challenges, including grading constraints due to neighboring properties and utility lines. The team coordinated with the architect to design functional entrance and exit points, while also working around the complexities of being adjacent to existing buildings with sewer and storm drain infrastructure. Despite this, the team worked to fulfil the client’s needs and align with city and state standards.

FOCUS provided civil design services, survey, landscape architecture, structural engineering, and construction staking services for the project. Close coordination and communication with ColdWater Capital, UDOT, the architect, and the city-ensured timely approvals and a smooth path to construction.
