FOCUS Outstanding Employees: June 2025 Platinum of the Month

By Focus Engineering In News, Team No comments

The Platinum of the Month award is a testament to the outstanding individuals who embody the core values of FOCUS. Please congratulate the June 2025 PLATINUM of the month employees!

Winner: Mariah Paez—Thoughtful Leadership

Nominated by: Cris Diaz

Mariah is phenomenal. Her passion for staying connected with our department is evident through her consistent and intentional approach to the monthly AR meetings. She is always attentive and thorough when reviewing the action plans we’re executing to collect ARs, and this gives me strong confidence that she genuinely cares about our TEAM’s success.

Beyond that, she is always mindful of other departments’ needs. A clear example of this was when she proactively arranged and adapted a new space to allow our Construction Staking TEAM to attend the Biller Cert trainings in the mornings, knowing that the regular schedule was difficult for us to accommodate. This act was incredibly helpful for our individual growth and demonstrated Mariah’s commitment to supporting not only CS, but also her willingness to engage cross-functionally. She invites everyone who could benefit from these sessions and gives them the option to join.

She guides us, teaches us, supports us, and prepares us for real-world challenges through roleplays and feedback-based environments, helping us build the tools we need to confidently handle uncomfortable or difficult scenarios.

Mariah’s consistent dedication, flexibility, and thoughtful leadership truly embody the PLATINUM property of HIGH MELTING AND BOILING POINTS showing a deep and unwavering PASSION FOR CLIENT SUCCESS (internal and external), even when it means taking the extra steps that many wouldn’t. Great job Mariah. You are an amazing TEAMmate, and I’m sure every department has felt and appreciates your efforts.

Runner-up: Maggie Borrego—Attentive Collaboration

Nominated by: Cris Diaz

Since the CS Department began collaborating more closely with the CAD TEAM on the Grading Cert fieldwork, we’ve had many more opportunities to interact, and one person who truly stands out is Maggie Borrero.

Maggie has been incredibly kind and attentive to any needs we’ve had. She’s always willing to help and takes quick action to make sure things move forward. Even on occasions when I haven’t been able to reach her directly, she still makes the effort to call back as soon as she can to check in and see if someone else was able to assist us, or if we still need her support. That level of follow-up shows how much she genuinely cares.

She’s also very friendly and consistently brings a positive attitude, which has helped strengthen the connection between departments and create a space where new interdepartmental relationships can grow. Maggie naturally builds TRUST, making collaboration easier and more effective for everyone involved.

Her actions this month clearly reflect the PLATINUM property BONDS EASILY, and we’re grateful to have her as a TEAMmate who bridges gaps and brings TEAMS closer together.

Congratulations to Mariah and Maggie.  We know the PLATINUM efforts such as displayed in June by our Winner, Runner-Up, all of the June EOM nominees, as well as the many otherPLATINUM  efforts which are less-noticed, are all appreciated.  It is due to all of these types of efforts that will make FOCUS HIGHLY VALUABLE, DESIRABLE AND RARE.

Thank you to those who make the outward-reaching efforts to recognize the PLATINUM efforts of others.  Thank you to Cris Diaz for identifying and nominating both our winner and runner-up.
