The Jordan Bluffs development in Midvale, Utah features the ParcView luxury apartments and town homes, and the Reserve at View 78 affordable apartments. Both projects are built on the tailings site of the former Sharon Steel Corp. smelter and mill. While the site has been cleaned up and declared ready for redevelopment by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, its history required a significant grading effort to make the site geotechnically and environmentally functional.
FOCUS originally designed the site to be functional for an initial grading and then worked closely with the site contractor, excavator, and geotechnical engineer to lower the buildings within the project site to address geotechnical settlement concerns. Then, FOCUS re-graded the project to work with the new building elevations. The result is a beautiful and functional multi-family housing development suited for a wide range of occupants.
