The Utah Department of Transportation tasked FOCUS with improving the intersection at SR-71 (900 East) & 6600 South in Murray, Utah to enhance traffic flow and safety. The primary focus was on upgrading signal equipment throughout the intersection to optimize its functionality.

The project required extensive coordination with multiple utility companies and UDOT to facilitate the placement of new signal poles and equipment. The FOCUS team met on site with the utility companies and representatives from the various UDOT departments to determine the what new signal equipment might be needed and to ensure all parties were on the same page and communicating at the level needed for a successful project.

While two signal foundations were able to be re-used, all of the other signal equipment was replaced, and two new signal foundations were designed. In addition, the east leg of the intersection on 6600 S. was re-striped to improve traffic flow and better align the lanes through the intersection of SR-71 & 6600 S.
