Winner: Kyla Lively—Highly Responsive to the Needs at Hand

I’d like to nominate Kyla Lively for being MALLEABLE and showing the BEST AT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was speaking with a client, Rod Tucker, Project Lead at Warner Construction. They are running the construction for our first of many Church Building projects in Hurricane, UT. Kyla has been their main contact over the last couple months.

I asked him specifically how she was doing, because I knew there had been a lot of hectic things construction-wise over a short period of time. Although I knew internally that Kyla was being very responsive, thoughtful, and capable, I was worried about the perception of the client in the field because of all of the moving pieces. I was pleasantly surprised when Rod said multiple times that he is SUPER IMPRESSED by Kyla. He said she’s been extremely responsive and helpful, and her solutions to their field problems have been smart and logical. He’s happy.

Although Kyla is young and less experienced, she has taken ownership of responding quickly to clients and getting them solutions. She is aware that there are things she just doesn’t know, and she is thoughtful and has relied on her teammates. She has pressed them to help her get the answers she needs and in the timing she needs them to help our clients. It’s a good lesson for all of us.

Kyla has shown the PLATINUM characteristic of being MALLEABLE in her efforts to be the BEST AT CUSTOMER SERVICE to both internal and external clients. Her TEAM has been operating with less than normal resources over the past few weeks. Because of that, she has taken on a lot of phone calls and running at client questions in Akhil’s absence. I’ve seen her mentoring others through her interactions with new interns to offer them internal customer service.

Kyla has also been a great example of high levels of communication. She makes sure that the admin team knows when she is available or not. She even does this for when there is no one from the department available immediately to take calls. Kyla’s dedication and commitment to clients has been impressive to observe.

In a recent interaction I had with Gerrit Timmerman of CORE Architecture, he specifically named Kyla Lively as someone who has been really helpful to his design team. He said they appreciate how responsive and detailed she is to their needs. They really feel her desire for them be successful in the projects we are consulting them. Any time I receive direct feedback from a client who names an individual from our TEAM, it is an automatic nomination for Employee of the Month for me. Is there a better way to receive a nomination for Employee of the Month than by getting positive feedback directly from one of our clients? I identify this as the PLATINUM characteristic of HIGHLY VALUABLE, DESIRABLE, AND RARE.

Runner-Up: Tiffanee Reynolds—Giving Clients That Much More

Tiffanee is a great example of being HIGHLY VALUABLE, DESIRABLE, AND RARE. She applies the FOCUS Core Ideology even when it is inconvenient. Her approach is above-and-beyond in going the extra mile to find resources for employees. Most recently, she took time out of her day to research information related to our benefits portal. She consulted with an employee on how he could most efficiently access the information he was looking for. Because we don’t have access to employee’s specific benefit information, she screen-shotted her own for the employee’s reference.

She could have easily relied on G&A to provide this info at their leisure, but her prompt response led to us adding another SOP idea for our ClickUp SOPs. This not only created additional efficiency for our ADMIN/HR group, but also for our employees and G&A.

Congratulations to Kyla Lively and Tiffanee Reynolds for their outstanding contributions in June 2024. Their dedication to FOCUS’s Core Ideology and their exceptional service to clients have truly set them apart. These individuals exemplify what it means to be Platinum of the Month. Their actions reflect the qualities that make FOCUS highly valuable, desirable, and rare in the eyes of both clients and colleagues.
